Good catch on that ignition diode... That's the type of problem that keeps me up at night..

..and btw... how does one get a sweet lead like this:? .."I have a meeting with a non-profit that wants me to build a kit car for street use for advertising."

They reached out to me after he saw the A Mod for sale. Apparently a bit of cyberstalking of my Locost 7 builders page on fb after they saw the A Mod.
The chairman asked about the current Tinker Toys project, and the rest of the toys over the past several years. Tomorrow I'll see what they currently have in person instead of in pictures.
I floated a build cost range and they didn't blink.

Tommy,

Starting to think you underbuilt the garage. Looks like 'TooBusy' is going to be a gross understatement.

Good luck Amigo!

Thanks Larry,
I'm waiting for the CAD files to come in snail mail before I'm able to complete the quote.
The biggest question I have is how the doors are supposed to work. I didn't see any provision on the chassis for hinge mount points.
Then there's some roll bar additions that weren't part of the original design, resulting in some hideous cuts to the rear clip. That needs to go.

Next is looking for a good body man who doesn't mind working with fiberglass. I can get the panels all hung, but fairing isn't really my happy place.

Last update for me on this thread, but I wanted to let you guys know that I'm moving forward with the build for the non-profit.

I signed an NDA last week and have been reviewing CAD files. We had a couple of calls and text messages and agreed to tackle the project in stages.
I just emailed a contract to them for Stage 1. Completing the semi-finished roller chassis to the orginal plans, installing the engine and trans they supply, and wiring, plumbing to the driver stage.

Driver stage will not be street legal, but it will be a running driving death kart.
If we like doing business together, I'll install the body and wire it for street use on a fresh contract.

I need to see what the NDA allows me to post. I think he wants to generate some publicity for the non-profit, so I believe the board will support regular posts and some videos.
