So anyway...
a year ago, about - July 2nd, 2018 to be exact - this JAZ products 16 gallon Pro-street fuel tank showed up at my door, and I set about mocking it up in about where it was supposed to go...

...fast forward 11.75 months, and I found it time to finally build up the tail section and mount the fuel tank in there.
Back up on the jacks we go, and get everything leveled up...

...then take the tail section top frame angles from the drawing, mitre the tubes (1.28 x .083 wall ERW, like most of the rest of the chassis), and use my proven concrete-blocks-on-the-floor method to weld the top tail frame into it's initial shape...

...leaving the outer legs overly long so the top frame can be placed and given and initial centering and set at the drawing distance.

Distance set, lop the legs off to a more reasonable length simply for ease of working. Set up the framing square on the CL and do a precise centering and alignment at distance.

Once you're sure of the placement - and unfortunately I don't have any pics of this, trust me, it was epic - clamp the leg ends and scribe the cut line from underneath. Cut the legs at the lines with some absolutely heroic chopsaw work, realign, center and level, and weld the top frame into place.

Using the chassis as a build table, construct the tail frame that defines the very back end of the chassis.

Weld that up, and use two lengths of tubing stock to align and clamp it into place at the back of the chassis. Measure, center, level, align, etc...

Weld the tail frame in place, and then cut - freehand, with the recipsaw - compound miters like a F@cking BOSS to mate the angled bottom outer tail tubes to the chassis and tail frame.

And then, magnets and welding.

Detail your magnificent welding.

Did I say cut freehand mitres like a BOSS? Yes, in fact I did. Once more with all the feels!

...and crush the 12-pic limit.
