Well then he had better prepare for it. That is only 1 week away.

Ok guys don't quit your day job to become comedians, you'll starve

Just to prove your forecast is wrong it was 80F here today, so summer is early.
That being said I survived 4 hrs inside the sandblasting booth :ack: , occasionally coming out to defog the goggles and hydrate.
End result is the frame and 4 steel rims sand blasted.
Tore the booth down.
Painted the rims Henry Ford's favourite color.

Metal prepped the frame with POR-15, turns chalky white

So after supper while I was walking around outside with my hand in my pants, I decided to walk over to the shop.
Flipped the frame and applied some of Henry Ford's favorite color.

Nice work, Perry... Frame and wheels look good.
Just remember to wash the paint and/or thinner off your hands before you put them back down your pants...

Looking really nice, Perry. It's going to be a huge technology upgrade for that little "mouse." You wonder what the original designers and engineers of the car would think about it? They'd likely be shocked that it survived this long, and that anyone would still appreciate it enough to put all that work into it.

I say good on ya.

Cheers,

Thanks Lonnie, I'm hoping to get a drivable frame by fall.

Ran some brake lines last couple of days. Poor pics with a black frame.

Perry,

What rack is that?

I'm working on a wrap write. You'll be the first (or so) to see it.

Cheers,

Yeah but JD, there's no frame lizards way up north here, so I'm outta luck on that color.

Ran the 5/16" fuel line, figured out what to do with with line fuel barbs, took a couple of 5/16" brass compression sleeves and soldered them on the ends of the tubing.

Hey Perry-
In that second picture, the sidewall of the tire looks perilously close to the frame rail. Is that an optical dee-lusion-ment on my part? Perhaps it's not an issue for a street car that's not subject to much in the way of cornering forces... But it looks really close in that shot.

So JD, after reading your question I called the development engineers in for an emergency meeting to discuss your question. As they were pouring over the cad drawings, I went into the shop and measured tire to frame clearance - 5/8".
I'm comfortable with this measurement as I won't be pulling any hard G's with this car, or maybe I will just getting into it
