Thank Chuck, much appreciated.

Today I spent 3-4 hrs measuring and jigging up the LCA's and spindle/rotor assemblies for building the UCA's. Used string to align front end, set caster at 7*, camber + .5*, everything squared up.
Some pics.

Had a side job last night/this morning. Son's K1500 4x4 blew out the PS rear axle brg. Replaced both axles, both axle brgs and seals, flushed the diff and tubes, test drive. I've always said, iffin you're gonna wreck something, make sure you do a fine job of it.

Back to the build. Since last update I fabbed up the upper A-arm/coilover perches and upper A-arms. Everything is test fit OK, need to gusset/refer plate all mods. Some pics.

Purchased a mini alternator with internal reg, had to remove serpentine pulley, machine a shouldered collar and retro fit the original V pulley to new alternator.

Now I need to draw on all the expert experience on this site. Last night I used my 25 year old dial callipers to check axle brg dimensions. Today I spent at least 2 hours turning my shop upside down trying to find them. I've checked tool boxes, drawers, shelves, counters, work benches, the truck, and even the garbage cans.
HOW IN TARNATION CAN I LOSE A 6" DIAL CALLIPER IN MY OWN SHOP???????? :BH: :BH: :BH: :BH: :BH: :BH: :BH: :BH:

Did you look right in front of you? Most stuff I lose is usually right in front of me.

I'm still baffled as to where they're at!
I have another set arriving Friday via Amazon. Sure as sh1t, I'll open up the package and set the new set down as I see the old set :BH:

The ones the guys use at Summit Racing are cool. They are digital and you can set them to read in inches instead of having to convert.

Well I guess it's time to git off my ar$e and post an update.

First and foremost I now have a place to put my old dial calilpers that I found sitting on the table in the shop, right on top of the new ones I ordered from Amazon. Shouldn't lose them again. :BH:

As for the restomod, I think I done got a roller. Put everything together for a mock up. Some pics.

Drive shaft built by the same guy that shortened my axles.

Shorted the OEM inner TRE's by 4", machined shafts, cut new 9/16"NF threads and assembled with new outer TRE's and mounted rack on heavy duty br@cketry.

Some pics of the rolling frame.

Now I know it's hard to comprehend the size of this frame, (I say it's this long, wifey says it's much shorter), so I placed an inanimate object on the frame and done took a picture. See for yourself and make your own assumptions.

Unreal, Perry. It looks like a toy car. It's going to be really cute, though.

Cheers,

wow, look how small it got with you kneeling next to it. I can't really tell in photos but looks like the driveshaft to pinion angle is close to 0 and the driveshaft to transmission is a few degrees. I know from my land rover days, you want those two u-joint angles to be the same to cancel out each others vibes. Looks like you could easily rotate the pinion down a hair if thats the case.

Yes it's adjustable. Will make sure to do that on final assembly, thanks.

Today wifey and I brought home a "new to us" house on wheels. This is the initial step on becoming snowbirds in the future. Our other 24' Class C just wasn't big enough to live in long term.

Ah ha! I see the plan now.

I'll PM you with some other stuff to look at in the next day or two.

Cheers,
