As a hobby I've been building cars for awhile. I sold this car about 16 years ago when I needed money. A friend of mine bought it. Unfortunately he is not able to drive it anymore. His family sold it back to me this weekend. I call her RUBY. She is my Wildchild.

Wild indeed. Was that C4-based? Reminds me of an updated Lister.

Looks familiar! Was she at Carlisle in '01? Maybe 2000?

I did show it at Carlisle in the early 2000's for a few years.

The car uses C4 suspension but uses a frame that I built. The suspension is converted to coil overs.

My inspiration was the Lister Knobbly. The cowl was extremely low to take advantage of a racing rule that dictated the height of the windshield above the cowl. This resulted in the large hood bulge. Mine is a bit extreme but necessary to clear the carb.

When I was building the car my nephew asked me if he would ever be able to drive it. I told him that if he became the valedictorian of his high school that I would let him have it for a week. He achieved that goal. I shipped the car from NH to AZ and back for him to have it. I had his father carefully go over it with him and then follow him at all times in the family van.

This car was selected by a Kit Car Magazine to be on display at SEMA in 2003. While there it was selected to be 1 of 7 cars displayed and talked about at the Hot Rod Hall of Fame induction dinner. I wasn't inducted. :) They just thought the car was unique. I was told it was the first time that a car like mine was ever included.

I have a disease and can't stop building. Pretty much all of my cars have a similar look.

That little sweetie is pure builder's passion

Sucks that your friend can't enjoy it anymore, but cool that you're in a place to be able to buy it back 8)
