It used to be a grain truck (1.5 ton?) now sitting on a 2001 Dodge Dakota with a 5.3 chevrolet motor.

It came from Kansas, which should be a good thing, except the previous owner cut the floors and firewall out (reason it sold cheap!).

I get to make it mine.

Anyone head from Flipper lately? I'm craving a boattail fix.

Long time without an update, but hers's one now.....

I went to the Bunny Run in Jackson, TN this weekend and found a gas tank in the swap meet that looks like it will work for this thing. It is a plastic fuel cell with an aluminum sheet metal cover. I can't find anything like it online, but it looks like it will work for me.

When I got home, I posed it for pictures. looks like I have room to move it up and back if needed.

Toyota? Are you going to run the Stude in some displacement class, or do you just like the motor?

Since you're into retro, I would have expected you to use a Northstar to build a modernized Studillac!

I'm a hotrodder but hate buying gas (one of my trucks gets around 9 mpg). I hope the small displacement buzz bomb will be fun with the close ratio trans....and still get decent gas mileage. ...and have Toyota dependability.
