Thanks, Jack. Even though I had read and re-read my state's information several times, it still had some very useful information that I had not seen before (such as what constitutes a "major part"). Great stuff! |

Yeah, that's a great resource, having all that info in the same place. nice that it downloads as a PDF. |

While these sites may be a good starting point, nothing beats contacting your state regulators/inspectors. Back when I registered mine, the state was constantly updating the inspection requirements. There are state laws, many of which defer the fine details to individual departments, and there are department rules/guidelines/procedures. The LEO told me that new rules came out the week that he inspected mine. He told me that those new rules were likely based on my specific application! The best I can say is to know your state laws and don't be afraid to question anything that an inspector may request that is not supported by those laws. You may be able to sway his/her "easy way" to your benefit. It worked for me several times during my registration. Good luck on your build. |
