So I tried Rally insurance group here is what they had to say

It does not look like we have any markets for you at this time. I talked to all of our companies and they do not allow any self assembled vehicle. I apologize that we are not able to help you with this.

Any other thoughts on who to go through??

You can build the most awesome thing in the world but at some point, an 80yr old man in a crx is probably going kick your butt on the track... don't ask me how I know.

Hagerty offered me the best prices. They or Grundy will insure just about anything

Hagerty you have to get the car appraised and sign up for an agreed value policy. They won't write anything less than 10k.
Not every state let's Haagerty sell coverage though.

They said they need a car it's similar to... which is an At-om that they don't insure.

I looked into that. They mention Hagerty and rally, who both have told me no. A few others arnt in business anymore. I don't know if the year of the model makes a difference.

I have Grundy. No problems getting my Locost insured with them. Reasonable too.

Getting insurance for a sevenesque vehicle seems to be relatively easy as it resembles a vehicle from long ago. Most of the Hagerty/Grundy type specialty companies will cover them. Some mainstream companies will also cover them such as SF, although SF would not cover mine in Illinois. The Ariel-type vehicles, and other unique one-off vehicles that some of us are building seem to be more difficult to find an insurer. Consider that some states (Texas) are reported to be pulling the registration from previously approved A-A's due to perceived or actual safety issues. It is no wonder why insurance companies do not want to insure them. As in everything, YMMV when it comes to a specific vehicle, a specific state, a specific person making the application, or a specific person reviewing that application.

I have no ideas how to get your car insured other than to look everywhere on the Internet for ideas.

I still go through an agent that uses different companies. They found one that would cover it. Full coverage was based on whatever value I set and the premium adjusted based on that value and my driving record.

But I don't remeber what company. Sorry :(

I am having no luck! Almost everyone says no. A few have said no because I had a speeding ticket last year even though its the only one in 10 years.

Any other suggestions? Internet isnt helping much either except for finding people to say no.

I don't know if its because it is a homebuilt or that it looks like and Ar-i-el At-om...

OK more info starts to come out. You have found places that might insure the car but not you because of your 1 speeding ticket. Some places will not insure unless you are at least 26 yrs old. I don't know if that fits you or not.

Have you tried American Collectors Insurance? they allow 1 moving violation. Do you qualify to be insured with USAA? If all else fails, try contacting your state's Dept of Insurance for recommendations.
