Notice the damage to the cage and the drivers helmet's proximity to the ground.

I hope he is OK.

That's an issue with open wheel. ...
Quite a flip! What, 1400 lbs? On one corner of the cage at speed and not much crush considering the impact. Well built!

Yep open wheel, just like karts. You get your tire over another one, you're flipping and if you don't, be thankful.

That's one hell of an impact on that cage. I hope the guy is ok too. Hard to say who's fault it was, more then likely his. Ouch is right.

That's a pucker up moment.

Rolled 5 times and the cage didn't crumple as bad as I would have expected.

Some people never have anything except ideas. Go do it.
Emissions & fuel economy haven't exactly been areas of strength for past rotary power plants, but absolutely no one with a soul has ever cared.

That's quite the tumble! Rear hoop looks like it held well. It's the front hoop over the windsheild that buckled, which isn't surprising.

Just a question, but does it make sense to use a heavier wall tube for the front hoop to help make up for no diagonal brace? Or is this prohibited for some reason?

I'm surprised the guy just drove off without even the briefest of visual inspections to ensure his front collision-side suspension was still in workable condition. And it wasn't like he limped it to the pitlane either. Yikes! That seems really risky.
