It's only possible to add the rigid filler panel between the splitter and the fender if the fenders are clamshell type. It won't work with cycle fenders.

So in your avatar, it doesnt look like the standard Lotus style clamshell fenders. Is that a legal covering?

I know it has to "look like the car it is" and obviously this is open to interpretation. So I am trying to see.....what may be allowed. And what I can get away with. The car will be down on power currently as it is only a Zetec build. But I know aero is the first point of attack on getting the car together.

"Is that a legal covering?"
As you stated, "this is open to interpretation". First, I'll submit that the subject needs to be viewed without the allowed front aero bits so, a pic of such is attached. In the 23 years that the bodywork has been on the car, nobody has failed to recognize the car as a 7. Thus, I submit that it does meet 18.1.A.1.l. Just last weekend a spectator at the autocross asked me if my car was a "seven and a half?"
The side pods were added because the turbo rotary needed more radiator than could be fit in the nosecone and additional air ducting for water radiators is allowed per 18.1.B.5. There is a water radiator in each side pod. Several years ago, I submitted a request for clarification to the SEB with the same question you asked. The response deferred the "recognizable" aspect (to any future actual protest committee), but did question if the additional area underneath would add downforce. Thus, I added lots of 2" OD holes to the bottom of the ducting so that any alleged negative pressure in that area couldn't act on anything more than the stock belly pan width. At least one member of the MAC gave this alteration the thumbs-up.
So, the bottom line is that at the regional level it's been OK, but at the national level, it hasn't been really tested.

Makes sense and kinda how I was reading things. I know at the moment the car already has a rear bias, and more so with me in the car. Before more rear aero is done *has a small spoiler there already* the front will need something to make more even.

In reality, I am worried about contouring the top and having the fenders done as stock. I can lay up some CF or Glass rather than buying. This is one of the others *older pic* but still has same fenders on the car. Image

Ill probably make a not as sexy sleek version to put on. Read, bent and flatter :)

Can anyone guide me to where the wheels likely came from that are on Del's creations, the Sprinto and the Jeep?

www.realwheel.net

You'll have to call Troy to get the extra wide/big backspace rear 13" wheels.

Note the engine placement.

How does that work with the big pinion angles? Regular replacement of u-joints?
