Hi guys I have recently found your forum and found this scratch built section and was reading an article about round verses square and thought that I would share my build with you, I have used square only in the floor and top chassis rails forward of the cockpit, all other bars are round where possible, Im a carpenter by trade and found the round bar very easy to use, I bought a notcher and from then on it was very simple, also on the same post someone brought up that lots of cars had been started but that none had been finished so here is the proof, it can be done, Im hoping to have my car completed next weekend all bar the exhaust and that will be exactly 11 months from drawing her on the build board, cannot wait to hit the track, cheers Greg Martin

Great looking build Greg. Give us more particulars. Donors, race/street? And you can never send too many pics.

Thanks for posting your album, tons of detail. Great work! Every one should look through your Photobucket album. Its going to help me with my panels.

Thanks guys, the car will be track only, It runs a toyota 20 valve engine five speed toyota box and 2 way limited slip disk brake rear end, the diff and box is out of our sprinter don't know what it would be called over there, maybe the truno, front end is inboard shocks on push rods and rockers, and uprights and brakes, hubs are all from MNR and are named receleda, wishbones are also MNR, it has a custom double pass radiator and shortened escort steering rack, the colour of the car is a bit lame but was done to match my road car which is in aluminium and carbon, you can see it here, http://carby.com.au/ the guy that I bought the Birkin off done the web site as he is a graphic designer, (IM NOT THAT CLEVER) I have owned it for 4 years and have covered about 25,000kms in it, when I'm not in the shed that is cheers Greg :)
