Details about How to build Tiger Avon or GTA sports cars for road or track New Step-by-Step.

Details about How to Build Your Own Tiger Avon Sportscar for Road, Dudley, Jim 1903706092

I believe the Ron Champion books that started the Locost movement are now out of print.
Amazon is a bit greedy for them, not sure if PDF's might be available?

I will be getting some space-frame plans from the maker of my body but suspect I will want to improve them.
Alfa drive-train and running gear so certain to need adjustment to any existing plans.

I have that one. It's a cross between an assembly manual and a thick advertising brochure, but it does have dimensioned chassis drawings and some helpful information.

Uh, (whispering) yeah, those might be around. Not sure in authorized form, but yeah, around. But it's probably not released to the public domain yet... But I'm sure someone has it around.

PERSONALLY I'd look around for the Haynes Roadster in PDF form. It's a +221 build, with most of the better enhancements to the Book build incorporated into that chassis. And yes, there are PDF's of the build modified for the Miata bits.

Another forum member sold me the Champion book at a very fair price.
Now I just need time re read it!

Been a bit busy trying to get an Alfa-Romeo Spider running before getting serious about it's rust issues.

Just remember Ron's books have some errors in them. They should be listed somewhere on this forum. Russ

Errors should not be an issue for me as I am not building a "7" this time.
For the first Dio Tipo I'm using a modified TR4A chassis.
Mainly wanted the book for process reference and possibly some suspension help for my TR Trick-6 project.

If the Dio Tipo works out well I hope to do another with a scratch built chassis and Alfa drivetrain.
Running but rusty Alfa Spiders are easy to find.
For that I hope the Champion book will be a useful reference but it still will not actually be a "7".

If I live long enough I do want an Alfa-Seven but I've already got several projects going right now.
