Getting closer to making chassis building a nearly full-time job. :D
Have found lots of interesting bodies to clothe them in and Miata donors keep them relatively inexspensive.
Leaves me wondering what other useful chassis may be documented?
Fisher Fury, Devin SS, Maxton, varied sports racers?
Sources?
Mostly looking for front engine but mid-engine is also of some interest.
Prefer not to have to start from scratch every time if possible.

IIRC, the fury and the Maxton had very Locostish space frames. The Devin SS used a fairly simple twin tube frame very similar to the Cobra.

I have pics of many chassis from books including the Devin SS.
None have dimensions or any ready means of finding scale.

With the current level of "OMG, these old cars are SO DANGEROUS to drive!" hysteria*** (Fostered by eco-nuts, insurance and manufacturer lobbyist, and others with ulterior motives) I doubt a pure copy of a Devin SS or early Cobra chassis could be sold to more than select few genuine enthusiast.
But I feel they still remain a good starting point, at least providing basic dimensions to build on.

*** Anyone afraid to drive their classic can donate it to me for proper safeguarding.
The 59 Chevy vs late model Chevy crash being pushed on youtube by the insurance lobby is a good example of such anti-classic propaganda.

Hi Richard,

I remember years ago buying blueprints for a Cobra chassis. As we all know this is a ladder type of chassis, in my opinion easier to build (with a reasonable level of equipment which I am sure is your case)than the bird cages that we are familiar with in the Seventh heaven (but of course I may be wrong). I have misplaced the material in question but I am sure the web would lead you to it in no time. and happy NY
