Ok, so one benefit to my profession and my search for a donor is that I get to see so many different cars on a daily basis. Had a Lincoln TC in the other day... and I'm wondering if it would be a good chassis donor.
Here are the pros (92-98 ):
Double wishbone front end
FLOATING front disk brakes
Wide bolt pattern compatability (read Mustang wheels)
Rear disk brakes
Solid rear axle
Also:
About the same price as an S10 donor
Very part-out-able (engine, tranny, interior, exterior, air suspension, ect...)
The rear axle is wider too, so it would be a better fit for a 442. Also keep my eyes open for it's corporate sisters, the Grand Marquis or the Crown Vic (Police Package?). Any thoughts guys?
And to nip this one in the butt, yes, locostv8, I know that 305 would make a fine engine choice... but I got my heart set on that darned Series II S/C GM plant...
