The original motor died, so I swapped an S-10 driveline in. That was in 2003.
I drove it around the block a few times, parked it to attend to some other
stuff, and it has sat ever since.
This would be a good 7 donor, including the rear axle and spindles. It's unusual in that it uses GM-pattern 6-bolt wheels, but I'll toss in a set of new takeoff Chevy aluminum wheels that fit. The steel wheels are 14".
I tried to start it a few years ago and it appears the fuel pump has packed it in. I wouldn't be surprised if all the fuel has turned to varnish. It has finally dropped off the "to do" list, and I don't want to mow around it any more.
also includes:
Locost chassis and suspension. This is the one with the semi-trailing-arm IRS described in this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=12282&hilit=maximaThe Locost was originally set up for a small block Ford and T5; the engine and transmission out of the truck would slide right in there. And if you don't like the IRS you could use the truck's rear end. I don't care.
I'm not going to finish this car (it was originally a friend's build) so the chassis has been sitting out in the weather while I mow around it.
Comes with: Fox Mustang front suspension, 280ZX rear end, semi-trailing-arm IRS, four new 14" tires on ugly aluminum wheels, steering column, Mustang wiring harness, and whatever bits I can find stuck in various places. Plus whatever extra bits I can toss in just to clean up. There are no coilovers.
You could put the Locost chassis and all the spare bits in the back of the B2000 and haul them both away with a tow dolly or car trailer.
