I am sadly not going to finish this project. So I am now listing it for sale. I have many parts that I will be adding to this post as I dig them out. I will also be selling off some of the tooling that I will no longer need. I do not wish to ship most of this as its just too big.

Please PM or reply here if interested. Located in Waterford Michigan

All SV Clone Project is Sold.

Also have a Birkin Series 2 Scuttle and Bonnet $250 obo

Sorry you are having to give up on the project. I have been there myself at times.

I may be interested in the Birkin Series 2 Scuttle and Bonnet. Can you supply me with some measurements? I have the Kenitc nose & scuttle. I would like to see if I can use the Bonnet with my pieces or swap out my scuttle for yours. Not sure which plans were used for the frame by guy who built mine. So I will have to measure mine to see if yours will fit.

I would need the length of the bonnet, the front and back widths as well.

Thanks,

Thom

The Birkin Series 2 is the same size as a lotus series 2. I don't think they will fit a standard LocostBuilders frame. I edited the post to add dimensions to the picture.

I finally got to measure my car yesterday. Sadly I found that your bonnet will not fit. The front dimension is fine. But my car is 39" wide at the rear. I loved piece, particularly with the louvers in it. Keep trying to figure a way to remake it to fit. Cut id down the middle and put in a stationary panel with hinges for each side?

I had asked where you were located in MI because I am coming with a small truck loaded with my tools from Wisconsin to Boston the middle of July.

If I can come up with a clever way to modify/use your bonnet, I will reach out back to you!

I'm a happy camper! This project will be heading to the new Too Busy Garage in a week or two.

Woo Boy! Tommy rescued another one! Does this mean the new garage be properly 'christened'?
If I were to abandon a Locost project I would be thankful if it wound up with Tommy. At least I would know it would be properly finished

Cheers!

Thanks Guys
Still quite busy in Chicago helping the Brother in Law wrap up a kitchen remodel that got derailed.
Sister in Law doesn't seem to understand the concept of Design Freeze or how a tiny little change on one end of the cabinets affects the whole kitchen.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to add an IKEA color finish panel to a base unit and attach it to a pantry unit without having the countertop people have to come out and re-measure. They won't be in the house in 2 weeks if the countertop changes.

Yesterday I rented a U Haul in Troy Michigan and drove up to Waterford to load up the project.
Engine, Trans, frame, and boxes of goodies are safely tucked into the 5x8 U Haul.
Six 10 foot sticks of DOM for roll bar and three 10 foot sticks of 1" tube are securely tied to the roof rack of Wifey Dearest's Escape.
The BEAUTIFUL bonnet is in the rear cargo area.

After lunch today celebrating 35 years at Dayco, Wifey Dearest and I will start the 625 mile, 10 1/2 hour trek back to Greensboro.

Arrived home 12:30 am and crawled into bed.
Today unpacked the U Haul and now I need to decide how to arrange all the goodies neatly and start moving the rest of the must have tools into the garage
