Well, I tried to not get off track but it happened. I haven't updated my log since March, I haven't done ANYTHING on the car since April and I need the space. I have decided to get rid of my entire build. I have a lot of stuff.

+442 chassis - not complete, basically just the tub. It's only tacked right now but it's pretty straight, I was proud of that. It has no front suspension, and no rear suspension, but the main part has been built. I was going to use a T-bird rear diff and IRS but it's in a state right now that you can go with a straight axle if you want with NO problem.

Kinetic Nose - I got a nose from Jack and it's just sitting under the build table.

COLD Scuttle - A wonderful COLD +442 scuttle with no holes other than those it came with. Great part!

Engine - 2.3L Ford 4 cylinder, it's all there minus the intake. I was going to fabricate a custom EFI intake. You can have what I have left. The engine was known to run before I got it but I haven't actually heard it run. It's a dual plug head (from a Ranger (87-ish)).

Transmission - I have 2 of them to choose from. I have a 5 speed Toyo-Koygo from the Ranger that has a hydraulic TO bearing. I also have a 4-speed from a 4 cylinder turbo mustang (84) with the flywheel and clutch. I wasn't sure which I was going to use, so I got two.

Spindles - I have spindles from a T-bird for both front and rear suspension. The front spindles were modified to use the sway bar mount as the upper ball joint location utilizing a heim joint. The fronts don't currently have any bearings or brake parts as I was going to buy new parts after I did the mock up. I have 2 sets of rear spindles. I have one set of T-bird spindles with drum brakes and another set from a disc brake car. The drum spindles have some nasty shoes but no drums as they were frozen and had to be cut off. The disc spindles have no brake parts as they were also going to be purchased new when the time came.

I have lots of other misc parts as well that will go with the whole lot. I would prefer not to part everything out. I would like someone else to pick up where I left off and complete this project. I am willing to assist where I can with the build but I have little time to do it myself. I would like to get $800 out of it, but let me know what you think.

It's been fun but I won't finish it and I think someone should.

Jason

Sad to see it going! Hope you can do start another one someday down the line.

If you do need to part it out, I'd be interested in the nose and scuttle, but hopefully someone does pick it up where you left off (certainly a good deal!)

I'm pretty bummed about not being able to finish it. I had really planned on it but I just don't have time. We just got a new puppy and one of my other dogs is a dock diver so we travel a lot for him. Not to mention we have a boat AND I jsut got a motorcycle. Too many toys and the Locost is the one to go. I hope to build another one at a later time. I know what is involved now so I can plan a little better. I'll still be around here and there though. I love to see what everyone else is doing. It's been great.

If you haven't sold it, I'll take it.

It will take me a couple weeks before I can get up there. I'm in Indy.

Does a megasquirt come with it? (your sig line)

I'll toss in the MS for an extra $75 if you want it along with the Stim board and RS232 cable. I had recently updated it to MSII but it has no harness. I was going to build it from scratch. If I decide I want another MS I will just build a new one. It wasn't difficult.

Do you want the whole thing? Bring a trailer because you are going to get the build table and all. My wife will be so happy to hear it might be leaving.

Give me a date you want to come get it and I will be sure everything is ready.

Hope you check in with us once in awhile. Wanna trade a dog for one of my kids? :) I keep tossing them off the dock but they just sink.... Kids are so high maintanence, why do dogs know how to swim but you have to teach children?

Out of my three dogs only one is a dock jumper, the other 2 won't do it. My Newfie/Sheperd mix will swim but not jump in. He kinda wades in like an alligator. My nwe puppy that is a Great Pyrenees doesn't even like to swim. If I get in the water and slowly lower him into it he can swim great, but he doesn't have any interest in going in on his own. I've told him has has to get over it because my Lab - who is the dock diver - is about to retire and the puppy is going to be my next jumper. I've told him he has to get over he reluctance and get in because he has no choice, it's just the way it is. So far I haven't been able to reason with him, I can't understand why...

I have seen many dogs who can't swim. We have had a few that actually sink like stones straight to the bottom of the pool and stand on the bottom looking up. It's kinda funny when someone has to jump in to get the dog, but it's also kinda scary when the dog doesn't come back up after jumping in.

It's sold pending pickup. The only thing the buyer didn't want was the build table. If anyone wants a build table, it's yours for $20 but you must come and get it.
