So I finally have my life back. I did what was called when I worked in the automotive shop 30 years ago a 'rip n tear' on the 'new to us' motorhome ( aka The Bus). You start at the front bumper and replace anything and everything necessary till you hit the back bumper. The beauty of a class a motorhome is that you can remove the front wheels and get at the engine from either side of the wheel wells with one hand tied behind your back
Anyhow The Bus is mechanically and cosmetically up to my standard now $2600 later.
Now here in Alberta we seem to be paying around $6CAN imperial gallon for go juice, so after dropping $290 at the gas pump we were full and ready for the maiden test drive pulling the 7 with trailer. Decided to go to a town about 65 miles from home that give us a good run with some good hills and valleys. Once there we stopped at Walmart for some groceries and the obligatory parking lot photo. Back to Holden and the gas pump to fill The Bus again to figure out what kind of mileage we get. Happy to report The Bus was getting 9 miles/gallon on this trip
, way better than I thought.
Next project wifey and I decided on is enclosing the trailer for 'piece of mind'. I may start a separate thread for that.
Anyhoo, we will be doing a bit of RVing and cruising this summer, then off to Palm Springs Cal with The Bus and 7 w/trailer in the fall for a couple or 4 months.
That's all I got.
