Anyone going to the Pirelli World Challenge at COTA this weekend?

I've got season tickets for all the races this year so will be there and would like to meet up.

Weather looks to be in the 80's by day and 50's by night with some wind and some clouds on Sunday but overall very good weather.

We are leaving out Thursday afternoon.

Good luck! And good luck w/ hotels in AUS this time of year.

Whatever you do, do NOT stay at the HoJo at 2711 IH 35 South in Austin. Stay at the local homeless shelter, or Humane Society shelter, 'cause those are both better.

Every hojo I've stayed in.. (3) has been an absolute disaster. Day old food trays in the hallways, disgusting lobbies, rooms not prepped, sheets that smelled.

I won't ever do that again.

We are staying in Bastrop rather than Austin. It's closer, plenty of rooms, much cheaper, back way out of COTA to miss the crowds, and lots of good food.

We never even see Austin anymore since they built the loop around it.

He might. Doesn't hurt to ask. He's a pretty down to earth guy. I've know Nick since 5th grade.

What's Nick's last name and what kind of car is it?

I'll at least go say hi and tell him Steve sent me.

BTW what's your last name?

His last is Esayian. Mine. Chovan. New car this year. I don't know what it is. Last year was a Aston vantage. You'll get a dumbfounded look. Funny. I'll see him here at RoadAmerica in June. It's been a nice get together.

We missed him m today but we'll try again tomorrow.

The car is an LS3 powered Ginneta.

There was quite a variety of cars here. The KTM had an interesting body construction. The buck appeared to have been built out of big flat panels and then some shapes attached to the face.

I'll get better pics tomorrow but look at the angles, even in the roof line, and look at the fender lines.

It looked good in person and not at all like previous versions I'd seen.

It took 6 trips to the pits but I finally found Nick. We had a nice long talk and then I ran into him during the fan walk on pit lane and remembered the forum motto of "pics or it didn't happen so I got someone to take a pic of us.

Ok I'll have to try to upload later. It won't let me upload from the phone, it says the file is too large. Of course all the pics I put up yesterday were from the same phone

I finally had a chance to see these pics on my big screen and not the phone. These pits are really nice, wow. Road America is all outside. Teams have to set up trailers
