Yeah, but Mike, if we each pitched in $100 it would only take three thousand and six hundred of us.

There's too much money in the wrong hands in this world. That is, it's not in mine.

The write-up notes that Chapman's co-designer for the Lotus 30 was Len Terry. Hmmm, could that be where name for the "Terry Hoop" that Marcus incorporated into Car 9 came from? Quite possibly.

Anyway, he was an interesting guy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Len_Terry

Tom,
You are correct on the Len Terry - Terry hoop connection. His Formula Juniour "Terrier" had the Terry hoop, which he then used on the Lotus 16 (mk 2 or 3 chassis) and later cars he worked on at Lotus. Somewhere in my dads collection of old car mags there is an article on the Terrier, if I ever come across it I'll scan it and post it somewhere on this forum.

As for the Lotus 30, the seller states the car comes with another chassis, I wonder where it came from and if the car it's from currently exists.

Yeah the thing with "original" race cars these days. Is they're usually like Geronimo's tomahawk. The heads been changed twice & the handle three times. But it's Geronimo's original tomahawk. So what really is the big deal about "continuation" cars with the vintage clubs? There isn't much "original" on the cars except maybe some of the suspension or other equipment. It's a new body, the chassis has been "restored" (replaced) it's a different engine (bigger or smaller or other make) same with the trans. So they're all (most) pretty much reproductions.

 You're right...picture a guy standing there, holding a little VIN plate up, saying "See? This piece is ORIGINAL to the car!"

Yeah if the factory plate (which you can buy) is till there. It's only been on 3 different chassis. Even the Le Mans car ( Lola T 70) they crashed & twisted into a pretzel. Is still out there racing LOL
