For Canadians:
I met a broker at a car show, who told me about the Hagerty insurance company. His name was Kyle (Contact info below). After a few E-mails, he said that they could insure my car, but since I am not 26 or older, they couldn't create a policy for me. So, all of you Canadians over the age of 26, contact Kyle, and see if he can help you. Just be sure to enphasize that it is a REPLICA of a Lotus 7. They wont insure low budget, homemade cars

"We do not offer an insurance product for the following types of vehicles:
* Inexpensive home-built kits that do not replicate a classic vehicle
* Replicas of the 1963-67 Shelby Cobra Roadster
* Any vehicles used for camping, off-road or utility-type driving
* Pro-street vehicles modified exclusively with racing features such as roll cages, wheelie casters, nitrous systems, parachutes, etc. (Consideration may be given to show-use only vehicles)
* Regular-use vehicles driven on a daily basis
* Vehicles used primarily for commercial purposes
* Any vehicle modified with a nitrous system. Vehicles that run on nitro-methane or blown alcohol systems are ineligible
* Motorcycles or scooters
* Dune buggies
* Antique farm tractors in Alberta or British Columbia"
However, they do insure replica's:
Quote:
"A replica car is a reproduction of an automaker’s manufactured vehicle. They can either be professionally assembled or home-built and because of this they will vary greatly in their level of quality. Replica cars should duplicate vehicles that are no longer in production. Some examples are the 1950’s Porsche Speedster and 1920’s Mercedes Benz Roadster. Hagerty does not offer insurance for dune buggies or inexpensive, home-built kit cars (with the exception of some higher-end Shelby Cobra replicas that are part of a collection)."

kferris@danlawrie.comAs for me, I have my policy with the Facility Association. It was easy to get a policy with them, and I can drive my car without restrictions (which I love). The only downside is that it is expensive. Since I am so young (21), I have no choice. Read more here:
