When it comes to building a high-performance 7, the choice of donor vehicle is crucial. While many opt for the typical Mazda Miata or Honda Civic, why not consider something a bit more unconventional? How about a Subaru WRX for its turbocharged engine and all-wheel-drive system? Or maybe a BMW M3 for its powerful inline-six engine and rear-wheel-drive setup? Think outside the box and you may just end up with a truly unique and exhilarating build. Let's discuss and debate the best possible donor vehicles for a high-performance 7!

Geraldwab, I'm willing to risk Approving your above post, despite a few warning signs (a totally irrelevant web site, you're building a "car", and you posted it in Forum Announcements rather than in Building Non-traditionally - Mid engine etc). We'll be interested in seeing what you come up with.

PS: 4WD/AWD is non-traditional.

Flat four doesnt fit well with the narrow front end of a Seven. Too wide. it has been discussed many times. Could you make it work yes, but as Jack said, it would be non traditional and wouldnt hav eht same look as a 7. You might be able to go midengine with a front wheel drivetrain behind the driver.

The best possible single engine donor is the one you that has had been mostly used as many of the issues are identified and resolved. Once you go off the beaten path the likelyhood of completly drops significantly lower than the low completion rate of these cars to begin with.
