Ok, so I see lots of guys with beehive and similar front signal lights and I am assuming they are single filament bulbs (since beehive lamps are usually clearance lamps, not signal lamps). Thing is, how are you wiring them so that you have them on as marker lamps and flash as signals?

My wiring diagrams end up ridiculously over-complicated and still don't work ideally (hazards mostly). So what am I missing?

Thanks guys.
Cory

Hazards are easy to add since they activate all lamps in parallel. Connect the cathode of four diodes to each of the lamp's hot wire, then tie all the anodes together and connect it to the emergency flasher through a switch. Easy peasy.

OTOH, using a single bulb to do both running lights and turn signals is more if a PITA. I highly recommend finding dual-filament bulbs.

Also if you use a single filament bulb you will not pass code as the turn signal lights have to be brighter than the park lights, so you either have dull park lights and normal turn lights or if you induce a voltage step up you then have short life lights.
A dual filament bulb is the only real practical option and it is not difficult to wire a light housing to accept a dual filament base.
