First off is my painless wiring harness

My initial impression of the kit is very good, a brief look at it showed that the loom is split in 3 sections, Dash, Engine and Rear. Plus a fuse box. All the wires are labeled, and color coded. It came with a 33 page installation book, which includes a diagram, plus charts for writing what goes where, and what is used. The dash harness has wires for all the "regular" guages. The kit also includes alot of accessories like wire connectors and zip ties (more than enough to do the whole car every 3 inches). All in all (other than the $270 price tag) I am happy.

My second set of goodies are the pieces I picked up for the front suspension. What I bought: 8 hiem joints, 8 brackets(with bolts), 2 ball joints, and 2 screw in fittings for the ball joints. I also picked up 8 ft of tube (not pictured) for the new A arms. I already did my front suspension, but was not happy with the way that they fit together, the way it looks, or the adjustability of it. I was also slight leery about the strength of my brackets. My rear suspension is composed of the standard 4 link with the panhard bar, I used heim joints all around. I plan to re make the whole setup and cut the old brackets off, mount the new ones and make new A arms. My old front suspension was a modified westfield A arm set. I had to lengthen the bottom A arm to fit with the blazer (same as S10) steering knucle, it just looks ugly, and for a ball joint I used a slightly modified tie rod end.

I think the 4x4 balljoints are bolt in, it'll probally be an easier route to go, I used the same lower ball joint, we used steam pipe to make the cups.

The ball joints are screw in. The circular thing next to one of the ball joints (inside the plastic bag) is the screw in fitting. The other ball joint has it on already. For the lower ball joint I am using the one I have on the arms now, it will bolt to a plate below the knuckle

I noticed the price on the Wiring hardness (nice). Do you mind me asking what your paid for the suspension parts and where you got them?

The wire harness is a summitracing.com thing.

The suspension pieces were bought locally through a circle track speed shop called lawrence engineering out of trenton, NJ.

They are a good bunch of guys, and if they get to know you they start to cut people deals. They are great at giving advice and helping with technical solutions. They design and build dirt track cars, so that is their main business, but they also do some (read very little) motorcycle stuff, and helped modify the locost chassis once (mine). I don't believe that they do internet sales or mail order, but they have a very nice sized stock in their store, and a full service shop in their garage where they build the chassis.

The suspension pieces cost me a hair under $250. I could get the stuff cheaper on the internet, but they have given me lots of freebies, checked welds, bend pipes for free, and cut alot of my chassis tubes without cost etc... so I figure I pay more now for free stuff later. Plus they will take a return on a part that I damaged, and replaced it free, no questions asked.

Also if you are in NJ at the end of Novemeber they have a great flea market, and you can get almost anything you would need, it's mostly dirt track stuff, but last year I scored a nice set of wheels, a bunch of used power tools, and the guy I went with bough an enclosed trailer complete with it's own (slightly damaged) race car.

The suspension brackets (BTW) are a real piece of work. The bolt is 1/2", and on one side of the bracket is a 5/8" tube welded in place the other side of the bracket is free the same 5/8" tube but free floating that way they clamp on the heim joint.
