The fix for SAI/KPI is almost ready. It affects both double wishbone and macpherson strut suspensions. I'll finish up the fix, retest, and it should be released in 2-3 days

Heads up: there's a bug in vsusp which causes real world measurements to not match what's in the tool. For example, a real world setup having no camber may show significant positive camber in the tool.

I'm looking into this now, and once I find the problem, I'll write in some redundancy checks to make sure this kind of bug doesn't get into the code in the future.

Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Just found this, very slick!

Does anyone know if there's a way to fix the KPI so the spindles don't flop over when control arm or frame dimensions are changed?

 Can you be more specific? I think I know what you are talking about, but I'd like to hear you say it. :P

Sure can.

I wanted to see how scrub and camber change would be affected if I lengthened the UCA by a couple of inches.

I expected the inboard UCA pivot to move inboard, but instead the outer UCA pivot moved, causing the to rotate a bunch.

Constantly correcting that by also fussing with the frame width would be a major PITA.

I'm designing a trike from scratch starting from the front wheels, so I'd like the option to fix the KPI, nominal track, and control arm lengths, in that order, and have the chassis mounting points follow.

Other people will be starting with a fixed chassis, so ideally the user would have the choice of which parameters to fix.

You must move the UCAP by also narrowing the frame two inches (actually half that since you change the distance based on one side). There is a lot of back and forth to get things the way you want.

If you post a link (bottom of vsusp page) along the parameters you want to keep and what the goals are, then I I'll try to give you a head start. I've been using vsusp a long time.

Hmm.

Well the default layout actually looks pretty good; maybe I can just scale that to fit the BJ locations on my uprights without too many iterations.

Do you know if dynatune-xl is more user-friendly?

No experience with that one.
