I am looking to make adjustable upper control arms and want to use ball joins similar to the ones in the link where I can attach 2 straight adjustable length links. Any one know what there called or where I can get good quality ones.

The screw in style ball joints? QA1 makes them but in my case i when with the moog k772 joints and bought a standard set them off rockauto.

Thanks but it's not the screw in ball joint that I'm looking for. It's there ability to connect 2 separate arms to 1 ball
joint. So I can then use them to adjust camber and caster.

Are you talking about two-piece adjustable control arms like Kinetic sells? http://www.kineticvehicles.com/ControlArms.html

Ah, OK i googled Adjustable upper ball joint holder. This is the first link i got.

http://pitstopusa.com/i-14482516-ub-mac ... older.html

sevenesque lists the summit link and SPC which is good quality.

http://sevenesque.com/off-the-shelf-parts/

you can always buy the threaded ring and make your own if you wished.

Speedway Motors has them too.

I'll have to say, I like mine better. Camber and caster are adjustable, also by turning the two separate arms (threaded R on one end, L on the other), but mine you do have to disconnect the bolt that holds the arms together first. On the positive side, mine's lighter, simpler, and better puts the loads in line with the tubes (more compression/tension loads and less beam loads than the collar-and-rod style).

I built my own, similar to what Jack sells, when I couldn't find commercial ones that use 1/2" thread. I figured 5/8" was way heavier than I needed. I don't think Jack was selling his yet when I built mine.

I have Jack's on my project and love them. I had the Speedway style on the R1 project. Comparing the two, I like how Jack's are designed. I was always concerned about the big wing coming off of the screw ring on the Speedway style.

I forgot about yours Jack. I will get 2 off you for now and if they fit front and rear, I'll want them in each corner. I'll have a look this week and send you an email. Any news on the nose cone?

Update: Jack you've got mail.

Hi Paul, your stuff (including nose) shipped out yesterday. I haven't heard of anybody using our UCAs in the rear but I'm sure going to follow this topic and see what you do there. It's an interesting idea and one I'd never have thought of. You're using Miata rear spindles, right? Are you going to replace that big fat rubber bushing with something solid?

I do not have Miata Spindels mine are from the Supra. I figure I'll just need to buy a different size ball joint if they are different. My current setup uses the same the same control arms front and rear which are actually the rears from the supra.
Yes the main goal was to remove the rubber bushings to be replaced with heims and also add some adjustability.
