I'm working on both my Rotus and my father's RM-8 and I need some information from you guys. How much clearance do you run from the ground to the outside frame rails? I'm thinking something around 6-7" for a street car? I currently have the RM set at 5.5" and it seems too low.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Happy New Years to everyone.

Dan

Dan,
I've set mine at 5 1/2" and it works fine for the street. I have no problem entering a gas station or going over a small speed bump. I have nothing hanging below the bottom of my frame, so for me, it is plenty of ground clearance.
Happy New Year, too.

I'm at 5-1/2" and it's been fine for 3 years.

I'm about 4.5" clearance under the frame, and almost 4" under my oil pan. So far it's been fine, but I haven't put a ton of miles on it yet, at least not on the street. I don't think I've gone over a speed bump with it yet, but then I don't really drive it in town much.

Mine's at 6" to the frame (IMHO, that's plenty), but only 5" (or a tad less) between the sump & the ground

I'm hoping that will be enough!
