I'm hoping to buy a set of spindles, steering rack and maybe half-shafts this week. I was doing some searching on some new spindles that Tuck had found for his Car9 and was surprised to see Sears come out on top of the searches for one of these spindles. The big stores run low profit margins so they are beating other peoples prices by at least a few dollars. I also saw Walmart showing up in some of the searches, so that would work if you don't feel like dressing up to go out.
So I saw two new choices for style of Pinto spindles and more options for the ones we are used to seeing. For the traditional style they now come with it looks like 3 different tapers for the bottom ball joint. It's not completely clear to me, but they list 1.5" and 2" tapers separately. They also list an 8 degree pin angle. It is not always clear if it is the axle pin angle they are talking about though, because the descriptions are sparse. In the past I have seen reference to 7 degree angles and I think they meant the taper...
Here is a pointer to the spindles that Tuck chose for his car. It has a bolt on steering arm and it appears to be able to be connected to both the top and bottom set of holes. That would be a help with steering rack fitment and bump steer but it needs to be thought out ahead of time because usually our racks are too long so raising the steering arm doesn't help.
These spindles are by Helix and come in standard height and 2" drop:

Note the Sears listing! It looks like Sears is being like an EBay and being a storefront for a traditional parts store. This spindle is stock height and 8 degree pin angle. It comes with a bracket for a GM metric caliper.
