was wondering, I would like to keep the car one type of fastener. preferably all metric.

is this going to be tough?

what are corvettes' suspension parts typically? std?

if it's later than 80 it should be all metric

You'll find that metric fasteners are going to be more expensive and difficult to find in some applications, such as rod ends and high-strength bolts. It can be done, but if you're in the US it's often easier to simply use a mix.

The metric fasteners should be easily identified by the bolt grade, which will have a decimal point in it. It's a little over kill but I'm putting a blue paint dot on each of my metric bolts or nuts and a green dot on the SAE hardware to idenitify which kind of nut or bolt and that it has final torque. This has helped a lot since you will be taking parts on and off several times during the build.

I'm standardizing depending on what I'm working on... basically the drivetrain in my car, being Mazda based will be all metric. No avoiding that. All of the chassis will be standard english units. This way it should be pretty much a no brainer for which wrench to reach for.. and provides some continuity.

Yesterday at lunch calvin mentioned an aquantience that tried to do everything possible with 3/8" bolts throughout some build he was doing. This sounds pretty reasonable to me, try to make everything as few wrench sizes as possible.
