It certainly won't work on everything, but that really is a pretty slick trick...Although, just as much as I don't want to forget that, I also hope to (as much as possible) avoid needing to remember it.

I like it.

A thicker lube like wax makes a lot more sense than the runnier stuff.

I have tried it and it works. I used a small torch to make the wax flow, it was a little quicker.

Turning the head of the screw/bolt red with a torch works really well. Usually (once it cools off of course) it'll come right out with just your fingers.
