Chuck (rx7locost) had a great idea of having a Megasquirt thread. Since enough Locosters are using them, it seemed like a great idea to have one stickied in place for discussions pertaining to building, setting up, and running a MS ECU.

Megasquirt Links:

DIYAutoTune homepage: http://www.diyautotune.com (excellent MS supplier)

Cool, I didn't realize there were more of us (except SkinnyG)!

One more here guys. I suspect more will chime in with time.

I would add this link specifically for those 'squirting a rotary: http://www.rx7club.com/forumdisplay.php?f=153

My setup is:
Processor = MSII
PCB = v3.0
Firmware = MS2/Extra v3.1.0
Tuning software = Tuner Studio MS v1.0
Wideband = NAW_7S from 14point7.com (no longer avalable)

My system is wired directly to my stripped down RX7 harness with no interface or expansion board. I am controlling several other engine related items with the MS2/Extra firmware.

In the spirit of Locosting, I have a JimStim that I will loan out to "established" Locosters on a limited basis (minimal refundable deposit + shipping of course)

I am willing to share what limited knowledge I have with others. I can work around the electronics side fairly well. I am just learning the tuning part of it.

I've got a JimStim as well, if anyone in Canada would like to borrow one. I'd like to keep it in the country to save shipping, and with someone else offering one in the US that shouldn't be a problem.

I've got my MS3X + 3.0 board built and ready to go, just need to finish the actual car now!

I will be going MegaSquirt this summer for my 4AGE 20V. I already have one working on a Lotus Twin Cam in my Europa.

I am still in the testing stages but here is my set-up:
-MS3X ECU with V3.0 PCB and 1.0.0 firmware
-JimStim v1.5 stimulator
-Everything full sequential
-2.0L Duratec stock coils fired with a custom igniter box
-Still unsure about the injectors since according to the MS site the stock Duratec ones are good for little more than stock power levels
-More than likely run Alpha-N with the MAP sensor as the secondary correction

I still need to sort out a pressure regulator set up since the OEM one electronically regulates fuel pressure* and buy a LC2 for my O2 readings.

*If I can sort out a closed loop circuit that can take the fuel pressure reading from the fuel rail pressure transducer and output a voltage to the stock fuel pump driver box, that would be ideal.

Don't forget to include Mega Jolt. I plan on using the Lite version on my Suzuki GTi motor with bike cards and EDIS. Russ

My Megasquirt is this:

Toyota 4AGE Bluetop, stock
Suzuki GSXR/600 ITB's
GM TPS & IAT sensors
Toyota ECT sensor
Innovate LC-1 wide band
Honda Accord injectors
Ford EDIS-4
MSIIv3.0, 2.888 code
Tuned Alpha-N

Caveat Emptor - this might get you started, but not a substitute for real tuning.

I knew I had this website in a file somewhere. ..

http://www.ecuconnections.com/forum/index.php

more focused on re tuning stock ecu's but they have a lot of shared info on maps and good schematics.

Andy this is a great suggestion. I understand that I am not the only computer challenged builder around and I will be interested in following the discussions of the proposed EFI topic. You may want to add to your references www.microsquirt.info This is the orientation site for MicroSquirt ( MegaSquirt's little brother). I bought this hardware which is a sealed unit and I planned to set it up for ignition only for the time being.

If you (or anyone for that matter) are comfortable posting them here, the forum software will let you upload a .zip file.

If any of you have full up Adobe Acrobat I've found that you can open a WORD or Excel file that just contains a Table from Adobe and then save the file as a JPEG instead of a pdf - Voila, you have a table that's visible just like a photograph. Resolution is not ideal, so don't fill the table with a tiny font.

It's more convenient than a Zip for the reader, but if there are lots of tables the Adobe approach is a bit of a slow pain for the poster.

Sorry to get off topic.

I decided just to upload a screen shot instead. The MSQ is not always useful depending on what code you're using, and I forgot how to export the VEX file. So..... screen shot yay.

Thanks for sharing Skinny.

Does the ~13:1 AFR at higher RPMs work well?

It seems to work fine.

I understand 12.5 - 13.2:1 seems to be acceptable for NA engines. The engine seems happier around 13:1 than 12.5:1. If I lunch the engine, I have a 2.0 Duratec in my shed....

A good read: http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_article ... rt_ems.htm
