There is a Hillclimb in Dragon area called "Chase the Dragon" hosted by CCRSCCA in June 11th and 12th few miles from The Tail of the Dragon.
Would there be any other sevenesgue car with SCCA safety equipment attending?
Apparently SCCA logbook with full cage and up to date belts will be reguired.

OOHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I absolutely insist that you take a side trip thru the tail of the dragon before the race. ..
A buddy sent me some video from his fork mounted camera not long before he lost his battle with cancer, an amazing ride :ack: !!
From what I've seen theres enough twisties to get a serious arm workout, just don't let them (the local constabulary that is) catch you crossing the double yellow (even though they seem to do so regularly), they like to write expensive tickets to tourists. ..
One of these days I'll have the time, its my bucket list, but I've so far behind I'll never die

Alas, my car is not near ready... This event is the sort of thing I'm building it for! I hope the event is still around when the car's ready! I've driven that road, decades ago, and loved it.

I won't be there, but my friend/mentor/hero, JK Jackson will be. Black and silver TR6 that sounds like it's pissed off. Go by and say "Howdy", if you have a chance.

Good luck, and please send pictures!

Thanks for all the well wishes, I will post photos and hopefully videos too.

It has been long time since I have been this excited about an event, hopefully we have decent weather.

The Dragon itself is great road, others may come at you quick behind the corners. It is part of the challenge to stay in lane.

The event was awesome!

The road was vicious and fun at the same time. Very bumpy indeed. 17 corners 2.2 miles and the winne GT3 Porsche had time of 1.54.7.
I ended up third overal with 2.02, won the SPO class.

Despite couple of spins and one bigger off, the event ran great, the scenery at the top was breathtaking and I had probably the greatest motorsport related weekend ever.

I was involved to make promotional video for SCCA hillclimbs, looking forward how that turns out.

I will add photos and links to videos in better time, but there are already many available through searchin Chase the Dragon.

Yo, HRK-
I saw some pics that I believe are your car, it looks good! The times you posted were purty darn fast as well. Good job, well done, Sir!

What kind of engine are you using? I'd like to know more about your car, if you don't mind... PM if you don't wanna get OT in here. Just curious, I didn't find a build log...

Regards-
JD Kemp

Here are evergrowing links to photos
http://ccrscca.proboards.com/index.cgi? ... hread=4593

And killboy.com collection of my car can be seen

Sunday

The car had extensive build website with > 30,000 views, but it is now been lost and some fragmented photos mostly in order are salvaged to
http://s575.photobucket.com/albums/ss19 ... eikkiCMC7/

The car is Miata based, heavily modified CMC frame Seven with all safety equipment for road racing, fuel cells, fire system etc. It was first raced in July 2005 and there were long pause betwene 2008 and 2011 when I took a breather from cars. Currently the motor is 100,000 miles drive junkyard motor with exhintake modification and GT2560 turbocharger. Puts 238 SAE corrected horspower to the wheels with Greddy Emanage piggyback ECU and stock -96 ECU. injector size 440.

Suspension points, a-arms and springs have been developed to current state over the years, very few if any are on original spots. GAZ shocks are still there.

Come and say Hi, if you happen to be in Atlanta area this weekend for NASA-SE event. I am driving in Time Trials TTU class there.

Looks fun! Was interesting to see the sidewall deformation under trailing throttle at 1:09.
