It's not a Locost, but a lot of what he went thru we go thru as well.

Interestingly enough: I work with Bryce and I helped out a little with the build (some minor welding and surface prep).

The car is gorgeous, and a lot of work was put into it. Heck, they recreated the low-back aluminum seat from scrap to come in under the budget. All of the tube subframe elements and roll cage look awesome.

I'm excited to see how he does this weekend.

They said he didn't do to well in the autocross because it was so narrow, but I'd have thought that would have helped because autocross is so tight.

I'm betting it's just suspension and alignment set up

He also only ran a 15 in the drags. That's waaaay slower than I'd have expected for a turbo motor. Don't stock Civics run that? He was a thousand pound lighter and had more hp than a stock Civic.

Based upon his build log he has automotive ADD so I'd bet there's very little chance they'll tweak it and run it next year. If he'll sell it to me for $2,000 I'll get it running right for next year's challenge.

$2K would be a screaming deal for a Honda Shogun Mini! Very cool project.
I bet it's pretty squirrely (in a scary fun way) with so little track and wheel base.
I'm guessing Kurt's Kimini is very similar.

They show several pictures of it with less than all 4 wheels on the ground.

I actually saw that car go together a bit - the guys that built it did it in the same shop that I started working on a chumpcar team in.

the build quality is just amazing and the car is just so damn unique
