Were you viewing it in something like Picasa? Some of these programs show a 'modified' version of the photo where the user has made modifications like rotations, but the original stays untouched. That wouldn't explain why the original was upside down though :)

Mmmm French engineering. Do you guys ever get French cars over here like Peugeot & Renault? I have never seen any...

Neither company (or Citroen, for that matter) has imported cars since (approximately) the early sixties. Renault made one try at a comeback when it was (part?) owner of AMC in the 70's or 80's, it didn't do well. With no dealer network or repair parts around, you just don't see any French vehicles in the US.

I can't really say if that's a good thing or not... All I know of French cars is from Top Gear...

It's a good thing, trust me. Everything bad Jezza says about them is true. They are a pita to work on. I have heard horror stories even about changing the plugs.

Except, the 205GTI is a fun little car :)

I forgot about Citroen.. *shudder*

I once had a Renault 5 while living in England - one of my more enjoyable cars actually, but .... Lucas may have actually stolen its electronics technology from Ducelier.

If you have a chance to visit St. Pierre et Miquelon (a French possession off Newfoundland's south shore) you'll find all sorts of neat French cars.

I'd never be able to visit there... Can't pronounce it...

JD,

OK, but I would have thought otherwise with your cajun dietary tastes ...

But on topic, an even better French car was one my opthomologist had in England. It was a mid-engine Matra with three-wide seating. I forget the model name (Baghera maybe?), and would have pinched a photo from Wikipedia, but it's blacked out today in protest against proposed US internet IP legislation.

If it was "St Pierre et Boudin" then I'd say, "Good for him! I done et summa dat my-own-self!"

I remember Matra from the F1 days of that marque. They were aligned with Simca somehow, weren't they? I can't envision a single one of their cars. Are they still around? The three wide seating thing is a new one, can't wait to see it when the blackout lifts.

I am envisioning someone shoehorning the front seat from grandpa's land yacht into a MR2.

OK, I found this link:

http://ucapusa.com/car_info_matra_bagheera.htm

I think Andrew questioned the seating comfort. I never sat in it, but regardless of the blurb in the link, my memory is that my opthamologist's car was WIDE - or at least when parallel parked among the daily drivers on St. Albans Road.
