Going to my first track day tomorrow. M.A.M. Mid America Motorplex in Pacific Junction, Iowa. The local British Car Club is running there tomorrow. Seems pretty reasonable $120 all day, or $80 half day. They have them almost every Friday. Hope to post pics this weekend.

Yo, Tom!
Good on ya, Mate! We will, of course, need a full report -with pictures- as soon as you get back!

Enjoy! MAM is a fun little track that's a bit more technical than it first looks. Definitely a good place to shake out a locost.

Track day was awesome......sorry video is a little long. Car handled fantastic, it was very eye-opening to drive in traffic on the track. Only allowed to pass is certain areas, but through the corners it is so obvious that these cars are all over street cars. I especially liked chasing an evo and Corvette thru the corners, I could watch them struggling to hold their lines, while i could stick my nose any where I wanted with no effort. I am sure I made them a little nervous.

Hi Russ. If you go to the MAM raceway website there is info on requirements. For Fast Fridays ( thats their open track day) they are pretty minimal. SA2005 helmet, long sleeve cotton shirt, pants etc....

Dang. In the old days they wore short sleeve shirts... usually with smokes rolled up in the sleeve!

Now go check and see if there are any welds cracked, anything bent or maybe just hanging off somewhere.

Let's see if you cheated death.

I find that the anti-submarine belt is much more enjoyable without pants

Glad you enjoyed the track time! MAM is a nice place to shake out a car; nothing to hit and flat as a pancake. You can really focus on keeping your lines and seeing what the car is doing.
