If you refuse to belong to any club that would have you as a member...Then this is the club for you!

There seems to be local interest in gathing for food, drink, and cars. So lets have our inaugural 'club' meeting...The first order of business can even be changing the SLAG name.

So is this coming Sat the 19th too soon? I don't know exactly where everybody would be coming from, but my first instinct would be that Bellevue might be pretty central. Or I guess pretty much anywhere in that 90-520 corridor on either side of the lake would probably work pretty well. Maybe something like Rock Bottom or Tap House Grill in Bellevue? I'm not very familiar with Bellevue pizzarias, but if pizza is generally preferrable, I'm always interested in suggestions for good ones of those too.

Update:
Date:Saturday Jan 19th
Time: 1:00pm
Location: BJ's Restaurant - 1159 Southcenter Mall, Tukwila, WA 98188

For location I suggest you find where the local builders are located, and find a spot sort of central. Not that it will matter to me personally until Spring--it's too long a drive in traditional PNW winter weather for me.

Yep, that's the plan. And while you would be an honored guest any time you want to make the drive, we may have to wait until there is a Portland Locost Advisory Group of Unofficial Enthusiasts before we can include you in the central location calculations.

Justin,

Great idea. Thanks for taking the lead on this. There's about a dozen forum members in northwestern Washington if you spread the net out to Squim, Port Townsend, Olympia, Vancouver, etc. Eight or so in the greater Seattle area.

Where to get together is a good question. I've been to Cafe Veloce in Totem Lake http://cafeveloce.com/ for similar gatherings, but it may be a little far north for some. Bellevue or Factoria should have some good places as well. Brew pubs are a great idea. I don't have a preference on which side of the lake. Suggestions?

I'm also pretty flexible on when, now that football season is over  The 19th works for me but may be a little soon for some.

Count me in. Others??

What's the location? The weather is supposed to be dry. Possible to run over with the WYCKED 7.

Off hand I don't know of anybody that would be coming from excessively far north on this side of the sound, so would there be any objection to moving this down towards the Southcenter (Tukwila) area, since that would at least save a little time if Kartracer is able to make journey, while I believe still being a pretty easy shot for the rest of us? I always enjoy BJ's in Southcenter...Ok, maybe I should rephrase that...BJ's restaurant in Southcenter has a good selection of drinks and food.

Kartracer: Considering the amount of time you would have to spend on the road to get over here, what time of day would be easiest for you to make it if you dare to? Lunch would mean getting up fairly early for some people, and dinner would mean driving back in the dark. Maybe more of an early afternoon late lunch kind of deal?

I'm new to the Seattle area. Don't know the towns/neighborhoods by name very well but I am mobile and have a GPS. Anywhere in the metro area will be fine by me. Prefer not going downtown though. I will be driving an extended cab Silverado. Me and downtown don't get along all that well ;<)

Maybe change the word "group" to "council"?

Is there any way to add "Kinetic Energy Recovery System" to that?

I'd join S.L.A.C.K.E.R.S. any day!!!

Very cool...I'm not sure if I can make this Saturday (in the midst of moving houses). I'm in Bellevue, so anywhere near that works for me.
