It sounds kind of interesting. I'm going to assume "While to be eligible, performance potential must not exceed GT-3/Touring 3/E-Production, ITR, one of the founding principles of the program is that there are no illegal cars. If it passes safety inspection, and is deemed eligible, it is legal regardless of configuration or modification." means a Locost could potentially play.

It will be interesting how NASA deals with cross over cars for enduros like the 25hrs of Thunderhill.

If the cars and drivers end up being more LeMons than LeMans...I would NOT be going out there in a Locost.

Interesting move for SCCA though. It wouldn't make sense to me personally to build, maintain, and house a car with all of the required safety gear specifically for this form of racing, but would use it to have another place to compete with a car classed for another sanctioning body. I hope it is successful for them, and helps encourage them to continue trying new ideas that differ from the status quo.

That is my only concern with this idea but otherwise it seems like a great thing. It shouldn't be ridiculously difficult or expensive to get on track but when the cars are worth more than $500 it shouldn't become a game of bumper cars. Plus Spec Miata already exists if you want to bump around in something a little more expensive.
