After I got back, my Fly'n Miata Happy meal showed up (clutch kit). I had ordered it long before the trip but the friction discs were on back order. So I managed that entire time on my original stock 1.6 clutch. Not bad though it did slip under boost in 3rd and up. So out came the motor again. Notice the 225 50 15s on RPF1s  . better.

Haha, Thanks Briggs., What, you didn't like the videos I posted on the previous page? No matter, more coming. This next one is actually from the last event before I change the clutch out.
This was my fasted run.

And for comparisons sake here is best run from my guest co-driver for the day (I didn't have may weekend where I drove solo  ). For reference Corey won the Canadian Nationals in ST this summer so no slouch. We are fortunate to have a bunch of top drivers in Manitoba. Great guys to learn from.

You'll notice at the end of the run, before the finish he finds 5th instead of 3rd (my bad, I have a Bit of lateral movement in my trans mount). That Briefly cooked the clutch assembly together, You can see the effects on the pic in the previous post (three distinct burn marks). Used that clutch right up!

I was invited to enter 'Driven', a Tuner car show, in July. HAHA the car hadn't been so clean since I built it. It was fun, the car was a fish out of water, but got alot of attention.

The rest of the summer continued on with driving the wheels off the car. So back to that.
The next event was at the Red river exhibition lot (RRX). this used to be the clubs regular venue before we moved to the airstrip. Here are a couple fo fun videos.
The 1st is Josiah taking his sister for a ride along. Ya, he drove the car. He drove the car ALOT as his miata broke down and he just couldn't find the time to fix it . We know how undependable Miatas are eh :ack:
The second is me taking his sister for a ride along. All you young folks the like the sound of a blow-off valve will like this one.

The annual Vintage weekend was held again in August at Gimli Motorsports park.
There was a special guest this year that was not to be missed.

Yep that's an honest to goodness, Real GT40! Owned locally. After the days racing, the Vintage cars were allowed to go out for ride longs  Fortunately I have no problem securing passengers so was able to knock off 25 or so laps. Just hooning around but good fun. The car didn't miss a beat.
The 1st video is has me catching and passing the GT 40 (how many of you can make that claim!). Granted he was on a parade lap.The last instruction I received before going out was "Don't hit the GT40" . Then had some fun chucking the car. The second video is more of the same hooning. Sorry its unedited. The first passenger was one of the vintage racers. He was driving an Alva, and as yu can see oon his helmet he no rookie. You'll see him approving of my hooning. Also pointing at my boost gauge. I told him I boost to 10 psi but when he was pointing at it I was up to 15psi, whoops! well at least its tune for it.
Got good reactions from those working the course as well afterwards. The guy in corner 1 Said there were big balls of fire coming form the exhaust when downshifting, and the guys in corner 3 were looking for how much opposite lock I'd have and if I'd catch it. Fun Fun.

Chris, none of the video links are coming up for me on this page or the previous one.

BTW, that's my brother's mini #72 beside the GT40. The picture was taken before he lunched the motor.

Awesome videos!!

The car seems to be very predictable. What size and tires are you running? I must have missed the videos on the last page. LöL.

For the National event i rained on the 1st day and we only had the Nottos to run on so it was tough. The second day dried up our last couple of runs. All in all a great weekend of racing. Big well run event. Lots of great cars and drivers. Look forward to doing it again.

Great camera placement. I threw the head phones in. Car sounds really good, exhaust has a great tone. Great driving too, very smooth.

I do'know Bill, judging by the other comments, looks like the problem is on your end .

The first three and were run on the 205 55 14 Nitto NT01s mounted to 5.5 daisies. The road course and videos still to come are on the 225 45 15 Nitto NT01s mouted on 15x7 RPF1s seen in the car show pics.

Lastly, My best run from the final event. Here I was running on a new set of 205 50 15 Bridgestone RE71s. I they they were about as fast as my used up NT01s Not bad for a street tire. Plan on getting more stick for next year.

And here's a bonus. One of our competitors compiles a montage each year of some for the lighter moments from submitted videos along with event cometary. Yes that's right we have event commentary broadcast on fm radio so you can listen in your car (if'n ya have a radio). We put on well run events but we do have fun. Enjoy.

Good fun, Chris. Looks like a great bunch of guys.
Is St. Andrews the old Gimli? I think AC just retired the old Gimli Glider last year. I still remember the footage when it hit the news. That thing flew for another 30+ years without a hiccup.

Yup, it's on my end. They show up here at work but were just white spaces on the page at home. Will have to investigate.
