Also, the tire is thinner between the ground than at the top due to the weight of the car and whatever your tire pressure will be.
I wouldn't sweat the difference. I have a set on the shelf I can measure if you want.

If it's a quarter inch off now I don't want to know haha. Thanks for the offer though.

Welded the frame rails on top of the subframe today, next is the diagonal reinforcements. I was looking at how I was going to do that and noticed there isnt a whole lot of room for a shock. Should I just install them like this and then figure out what kind of room I have for shock afterwords and then purchase accordingly? I am planning on buying GAZ from Kinetic-Jack. http://www.kineticvehicles.com/Shocks.html

Also, some of my first good MIG welds today after figuring out I needed more heat and less wire.

I used the mx5 shocks on mine, just made some 3mm mounting plates. the back aluminium just hangs off the back of my car.
done 1200 km so far and now worries. I hard mounted all the diff points.

I ended up buying shocks from a Raptor 660, should be a decent amount cheaper than MX5 shocks.

Originals are 88-89 inch wb, rear steer with the rear lca leg near perpendicular to the wb.

For the steering clearance issue, I've suggested making the front leg of the lcas near perpendicular to the wb to clear the steering and rack with a new transverse tube at the new nodes. Structure forward of lcap front brackets would kick up to clear the rack and drop back down to support the nose and radiator, possibly bolt on, so secondary structure. Also no increase in wb or changing of proportions such as the nose relative to the front wheels.

I moved back home and no longer have to drive 1 hour to work on cars, hopefully I'll get some more done now.

I think I need to finally let go of this and move on to other things, so it is for sale again. I made a video to show what I have...

I don't know how I missed those suspension videos last year, but I think they're terrific. I'm updating my web site (I do that every six years, whether it needs it or not), would you mind if I put links to your Front Suspension Part 1 and Front Suspension Part 2 on my Sage Advice page?

I don't think he watches this much, Jack. Might be better off commenting on the YT video, as he has been posting there recently. I bought the project from him in March.
