Cycle fenders were my original plan, but the rear deck has to be pretty tall to cover the engine, and fixed fenders sit taller than the cycle fenders for tire clearance. That means the back of the car doesn't look quite as malproportioned as it would with cycle fenders.

I don't know if the boxes are covering trailing arms, but here's an example of side boxes:

TRX, have you considered "cycle" fenders fixed to the chassis instead of the hubs, but still standing off the body? As they would have to set "tall" like fixed fenders for tire clearance, the proportions would be similar to normal fixed fenders, but without the bulk. Being set away from the body, they would also clear the De Dion trailing arms.

Nope. Hmm... with the right sort of bracketry they could be easily removable, which would sure make it easier to work on the engine.

TRX, For bracketry I'm thinking of short (2.5") receiver tubes fixed perpendicular to the chassis that would accept slide-in support tubes attached to the fenders. Kind of a variation on Perry's front fender mounts. Through bolts could pin the fender tubes inside the receivers for easy fender removal.

Reminds me of the Bolwell Ikara, all relevant to bodywork iterations for Car 9 and Locost.
