Hi Guys,

I stolen an engine mount design from the forum. I was wondering what people think? 3MM gauge steel.

Yupper looks good to me
If you want to add lightness, you could cut off the far corners or get out the hole saw.

Imho, the plate should be no bigger than the contact area on the mount. It looks like you could cut an inch all the way around the plate. This puts the other plates in the best position to support the mount without bending the plate.

The side plates are determined after the engine is in its final position. Card board templates are made to go between the frame and the mount plate, then cut from steel. 3 mm is a good choice. When you have the engine in position, post pics from different angles and we can edit the photos with ms paint to draw the best side plate arrangement.

The slot looks like it is much longer than it needs to be but that is not a problem.

I would definitely move the side plates inboard half an inch or so.
