I don't know how much interest there is in me posting photos from this years show. There were some great cars there, but I tend to focus on the ones that are unique, and mechanically, or conceptually, most interesting - not necessarily the flashy ones.

My favorite group - The San Diego Roadster Club - did not exhibit this year. Big Bummer

Here are some teasers. If people are interested I'll post more. Let me know.

Cheers,

Hagermann Special

Those are some of the highlights. Let me know if it's interesting enough to expand on.

The Low-rider section was sponsored by PPG. When you see the paint jobs on these cars, you'll understand why they did so. I don't think my photos will do the paint on his car justice. Any small change in lighting totally changed the apparent color. It looks like it is light green here, but his rotating lights would change the color completely.

Here's just one example:

This 7-like roadster was done by the son of a man who did all the sports car and sprint car bodies when I was growing up in the S.F. Bay Area. It was just sold to a very nice man from Dallas, Texas a few days prior to the show, and he brought it along with his Ford roadster from the same builder. I had a chance to talk with him in detail about it.

The work is masterful and I have a lot of photos of it. It has some really cool detailing including a wrap-around, frameless windshield embedded into the scuttle section.

That's not a car, it's a piece of art. Fabulous work.
