What you have riveted to the nose cone? Left and right from the yellow tape.

Hi Tibor

The nose is riveted to a 16G metal frame to keep it rigid and provide mounting points. Where the nose frame meets the car frame (cleo on each side) I used 1/4" bolts to mount. Then where the hinge support meets the nose frame top center there are also 1/4" bolts. This makes the nose very rigid once mounted.

My father-in-law's Indian Scout is a similar orange. It was the color I was planning my 7 before it had to move on to the next owner.

The nose is not fiberglass? Mine it is, from Kinetic, and it is super strong, I don't need a frame for it. Just used two Dzus fasteners up there and two at the bottom.
If I will fail to make a one piece hood that it will fit nicely, I will resort to this type. It is way cooler, then the one piece. Also, every time you would remove the one piece, always have to think where to place it, it can be damaged easily. It is easier to make two small pieces, than one big piece.

The nose is fibreglass and yes it is strong. I just built a steel frame for it because of the build style of the hinged hood. I've done it this way on my three previous builds.

Hood halves are rough cut. Decided to polish them prior to forming and final trim and fitment.

So I finished polishing the DS hood panel and started thinking how do I form and trim this panel without marring the panel. Then I thought to myself "Self, I know what I can do!"

I went to the store and got me some self adhesive cupboard shelf liner. Put it on the panel and now I can handle the panel with no worries.

lol, thanks for the link B85

325 ponies with 400 lbs torque is insane
BUT there are 2 take aways from that video

(1) I wish I had a shop that clean I could eat off the floor

(2) I wish I had that kinda coin, lol

(3) I wouldn't be able to keep my 7 between the lines with that turbo'd, ported and polished, blueprinted jewel of an engine

(4) But it's nice to dream.......

And that's the 2 take aways in a nut shell

Well I don't have a vertical post in the centre of my shop like the old coach builders did but I do have a 4" plastic tube mounted on a couple of saw horses. Using this to massage the DS hood panel.

IMG_7903.jpeg

Slow work, took me around 2 1/2 hours to get this result and I'm not finished but it is progress.

Measured the rivet spacing at 2". Lightly centre punched and the drilled 1/16" pilot holes. Set hood half in place, positioned, and drilled and cleo'd.
Some pics.

Very nice!
You will have some foam tape on the chassis?
I was wondering how that would look like to have a tape under the bonnet, but not under the scuttle. Wouldn't look weird?
