Hiya

Thought my first post should be a run down of my project.
Its a big mix of small GM parts, S10, wbody, etc.

That exhaust work looks great! It looks like you're planning to run the exhaust down the tunnel?? Or are you going to kick it out to the sides just behind the 3-into-1?

Also it looks like you've got a shift extension bolted to the trans. What kind of trans is that and is the shifter re-located?

the headers need to be shortened a bit still, they're going to kick up right infront of the firewall to feed into the turbo that will sit ontop of the trans.

The trans is a T5, and yeah, thats the first attempt at the shifter extension, I think its still going to need some tweaking, but it works pretty good so far, really short ratio gear shifts.

Looks great!

Is that a S10 tranny? On the fbody one the shifter location is further back ...

yep, the T5 is from an S10 4 Cylinder that came with the dual starter bulges to accept the FWD starter orientation

Yes that exaust look beautiful.

I think you would be better though if you made the headers shorter, more straight back. With the turbo you really want to keep the headers as short as possible, this will prevent lag when the exaust has a chance to pressurize. It really shouldnt be too much of a problem unless you plan to race it.

I didn't want to do a Log style manifold, the engine is going to spend most of its life in the upper RPM's so flow was more important to me. Plus, it just looks cooler this way, heh heh. The overall performance of them isn't that important as long as they'll be able to flow good enough to be able to spool up the huge turbo I have. The car should be somewhere in the 300-400hp range, at a weight of 1500lbs or so, that should be plenty for now I think.

MAN! Those A -arms are sexy.
THe Headers are a NICE bit of work too!
How much do you figure your A-Arms cost?

What size tubeing are you useing?
And spindle sticking out of the A-Arms, What type are they?

Very Nice so far....

How much do the A arms cost? I couldn't say, took a while to make the lowers. The tubing is 1" thick wall, they use it on circle track cars and stuff I think, so I thought it should be good enough.

My lower ball joint? thats just stock S10 xtreme bits to match the spindles.

ahhh, nothing done on my car still..... I decided to fiddle with the rendering of my car to help ease the pain...

Changed the color, i'm feeling a deep champagne red now, with ox blood interior.

uh oh, screwed this one up some how.... I'm making a custom intake plenum to fit my corvette throttle body, but somehow the measurements from the file transfer got screwed up big time, the holes were all the right size, but the spacing was all fucked up for some reason....

Since I'm now contemplating a similar path, I must ask what type of engine that is and what's it out of. Is it a 3800? Is there a way to use this drivetrain without a shifter extension? I guess what I'm asking is did you move the motor and tranny any further forward to make room for the turbo bits or is that just where it best fits?

its a 3.4L DOHC out a Chevy Z34 - made piles of power - rumoured to have been detuned so the (fwd) tranny could survive.
