Any of you builders with skinny asses may want to check out this link:

$30.00 for a high-back fiberglass seat 14-1/2" wide. Not bad, but too narrow for me!

At that price they could be cut down the center and made wider.

They have some imperfections in the fiberglass so they are on our garage sale.

You think? :P They look like an aborted middle school art project. Still, the price ain't half bad. For the money, though, I'll be picking up a used kart seat (in blingy carbon fiber if I catch a good deal) off eBay.

I was 98% of the way through ordering a pair of them. I figure for the price, even if I had to modify them it may be worth it. Then the shipping cost popped up and doubled the cost of the order! No thanks, I'll just order the Kirkey aluminum seats I really want when I'm ready...

I'm figuring something like this:

What I DON'T want is this style, with the wings:

I'll probably hold off on the seats until I know for sure I won't want to re-use the seats out of the S-10 donor, and so that I know what size I can go with to give me the best fit.

I have one of those seats in the lower picture in my showroom stock racer. They are terrific if you plan on racing or autocrossing since you can bend those sides in to give lateral support to your torso. On the streets on street tires you would never generate enough lateral G forces to use them so they would just get in the way. If you are going to buy a Kirkey you should know that they take a fair amount of "fiddling around with" to get them comfortable. You have to pad them up to fit just right (they come with minimal padding in the covers) but once you get them fitting you will love them. They are also super light. I just like the adjustability they offer. If you can't tell I'm a big Kirkey fan.

You might look at Porsche 914 seats, thats what I'm using. I loved them in my 914. Ebay listing not mine but an example.

I'll second these seats:

I just finished up mounting these in my Locost and they are SWEET and very very comfortable. Right now, I have both styles of the Kirkey seat shown in this thread AND two 914 seats in my garage and the Kirkey drag seats are by far the most comfortable.
