I'm glad there are several forms of racing and high performance driving available. Lemons sounds like fun, but more fun for those with some racing experience than those starting out.
Have you considered Open Road Racing, like the BIG BEND OPEN ROAD RACE? Something like a rally, but trying to average a specified speed that you chose over the course (usually a closed highway) while staying within upper and lower speed limits. Cars are started at intervals, but passing is allowed. Most of the time, you'll be alone on your piece of road.
Your score is how close you came to the "par" time for your speed. With target speeds starting at 85 MPH, choice of cars is pretty broad. A Locost would get a lot of attention!

Ok, this is a cheap way of posting my photos:

FYI, here's a good epilogue to this whole experience.

I've been racing a while and have done a lemons race at thunderhill. To be honest the lemons race is kinda a joke, thats what makes it fun. You really cant take that seriously. Its a bunch of people who are angry at the w2w world and want to change things.

You got basicly throw into a situation that you where not comfortable in. Dont think that w2w is always like that. Its almost never like that with cars of all kinds of different speeds and so many that your going 4 cars deep into hairpins. Thats what makes lemons cool to w2w guys, since you dont get that oppertunity with 100k race cars.

When I was out there, they where pretty strict and our team got many black flags. Which got us kicked out of the race with like an hour left to go. The winner was just a basic fwd car that had the best gas mileage and the drivers would fill it up and drive for 3 to 4 hours till it ran out of gas and switch off. They won cause they stayed out of trouble and stayed on the track.
