Hi guys,
A little parental bragging here .................
This is my son's Challenger Jaguar replica -kit- car! The frame is made mostly of 1" square tubing similar to the Locost space frame and it was galvanized after fabrication! The body is a fiberglass pop off from a 1961 Jaguar roadster. Jaguar gave the company permission to pop the mold as long as they didn't represent the car -as- a Jaguar. Just think, a Jaguar that won't rust!!
The running gear, motor etc is all Jaguar XJ6. The fiberglass, running gear and motor are quite heavy and the complete car weighs about the same as a stock XKE Jag (~2500 lbs). Unfortunately the company that made the kit in the UK is out of business.
This picture was made at a local English car show. The car really fakes out people and it is hard to tell the car from a real Jag. The main external difference is that the tunnel is -very- wide and square looking. It really confuses people that know Jags when they see it
You can see many more pictures of it with details at;
