I just got started on my Locost, and was thinking that in a city the size of Houston there had to be at least a couple other builders or completed builds around. It would be nice to check out some projects further along than mine to get some inspiration, even if they're not done. So far mine is just a buncha tubes tacked together, so I've got quite a long way to go...

You missed mine by about a year. It featured pushrod front suspension, a bike motor, paddle shifters and a sub-1000 lb weight. I sold mine to Jack McCornack of Kinetic. He's got it for sale again.

i actually saw your for sale post pretty soon after i started reading this board. in my mind, i had always wanted to do some a-arms that had threaded adjusters for the rod ends, and yours had some pretty good looking ones in the front. i was in the very preliminary stages of thinking about building, and i regret not seeking you out to check out the setup in person. oh well.

hopefully there will be another bike engined locost to replace that one in a few years...

Let me add my name to the list then too, I'm up in The Woodlands, but I guess that counts as Houston.
Here's my build log: http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=6173

I am living in colorado for a little while longer but will be moving back to Houston Heights this fall I hope, provided we can sell the house here in Co. I hope to get mine registered in June 2011 with any luck at all. It is running now and I have driven it around the block once. Texaslocost.com

Very cool, I live in the Heights also. Let me know if you get back to the area, we should definitely meet up. I looked over your website when I first started building because the URL texaslocost.com caught my eye. Good to see you're getting close!

I'll be in Houston (just me, not my seven) for the first two weeks of august. Give me a call. 713 459 4399 I'll drop by.
