Beautiful stuff! Do you do the design work by hand or with CAD of some type?

I'm not sure about Canada, but we've had this craft beer revolution going on for maybe 15 years here in the USA, which has apparently now extended into making craft-style whiskey and bourbon. Are you making stills for those kinds of places?

Cheers,

Hmmmm, don't know, build a 7, build a whisky still? Build a 7, build a whisky still?
I think a guy needs to build a whisky still first, then savour the fruits of his labour to get through a 7 build.
Nice, nice work.

Craft distilleries are booming, but the real boom still hasnt quite hit, growth seems to be exponential, we've consistently doubled sales every year since starting we've got a couple more years till we're really in the thick of it.
5 years ago there were less than 10 craft distilleries in the USA, a year ago there were about 200, now there are over 500.

We have quite a variety of customers running our stills, Bourbon is a common product, as are Rye and Wheat whiskeys. Craft Vodka is booming, but I think rum is ready to go crazy.
I have a Client in Hawaii making rum agricole from Native Hawaiian Sugar Cane Species that were on the brink of extinction. unlike most rum agricole, this tastes fantastic.
another client is making corn whiskey and Bourbon from Heirloom corn varieties, that go from ground to the bottle within less than 2 mile radius.
there is lots of neat stuff out there, all these little craft distilleries are fantastic to visit if you appreciate the hands on nature of any sort of craft production.

I do all my design work in AutoCAD, and all my calculations in Excel, there is little published on the math for distillation systems, I had to develop my own model and refine it through experience. Our first designs proved out well, but we've found a number of places where performance could be honed.

You can see a map of all the distilleries running our Equipment, its about 4 months out of date, we've deliver quite a few more systems since it was last updated.

These hobbies go well together. Plenty of effort, studying and reward.

I checked out the map. There's nothing near me yet, but please let me know if you build one in San Diego or Orange Counties here in California.

Cheers,

Hell, I just want to be first in line with my 1 gallon, brown jug. That's 3.78541 liters to you, fella.

Cheers,

Hey, your map shows Sutherland distillery! Good stuff!!! An old Frisbee buddy of mine now owns a bar and carries their goodies (on the shelf right next to the other local distillery named Hanger One and he has Racer Five beer on tap as well. ..).
Local craft stuff is a HUGE deal here in the SF Bay Area.
We should chat some time about recommended cleaning procedures, I have a line of third party certified organic stuff http://www.ecologicsolutions.com/ some of your clients might be interested in.
Production plants on both coasts. .. and I wouldn't mind picking up a few more industrial grade customers.
I don't know a durn thing about cleaning a commercial still. ... But I also carry a device that uses brine to produce soap and sanitizer on site for really high demand users.

I do wholeheartedly agree that whiskey still
is a super nice project, consuming lot of time
But hey folks ! there's an alternative, better
known as "lazy ewhen way" by just throwin'
few seeds in the ground and watch the grass
grow.

Cheers
