No rain in the forecast today, so I got up early to do some work before work.
Opened the garage doors, blew out one final time and started mixing epoxy.
According to the rustoleum directions you should mix the two cans of Part A together to achieve uniform color, then separate back to original amounts as it's best to work 1 gallon at a time.
DAM GOOD ADVICE!!! At least the work a gallon at a time part.
I mixed the color, and returned 3 quarts back into can 1 and sealed it up.
Added Part B to my mixing bucket and stirred per the instructions. They don't suggest using a paint mixer to prevent introducing a lot of air bubbles, so stir stick it was.
Did you know 3 minutes is a surprisingly long time using a stir stick?
Set timer for 10 minutes dwell time and waited.
Then grabbed my brush and began cutting in. Goal was to get close enough to the bottom of the wall for 1x4s used as basedboards to cover. In reality I should have done this prior to putting up drywall. It would have made cleaning up my drywall messes easier with sealed floors and I would have easily gotten plenty close to the studs to be able to cover paint edges. oh well feces happens
Once I had cut in around the garage door at the back I started rolling. With the broomed finish the epoxy much prefers to be rolled in the direction of the brooming, then re-rolled at a 90 degree angle. The revelation changed my game plan a little.
Original plan was to roll the back half with the first gallon and the front half with the second rolling on epoxy just at 90 degrees to the brooming... With that not happening I switched to doing one SIDE. Problem with doing one side is there is NO WAY to do the other side until the epoxy cures.
Again, feces happens, learn to adapt.
Got half done, came in and did a couple of conference calls then went out a little while ago to take a pic and see how it looks.

I see a few thin spots and rough places where the roller nap didn't fully cover. Other than that the color is remarkably uniform considering how much variation there was after acid etch.
Now kicking back at my computer doing some paperwork and waiting for tomorrow to roll around to do the other side. Or maybe I should do a second coat on the first, I don't know. I'm leaning toward doing side 2 tomorrow and
hopefully a full second coat all over the garage after Church on Sunday. We shall see.
The instructions say that recoat window is up to 4 days after that it needs a cleaning prior to recoat.
